Aston Martin will be showing off Q at the Geneva Motor Show next week with a Q-spec Cygnet and a Q-spec Vantage Roadster.<br /><br />The Cygnet will reportedly come with Cherry Tree rasberry paint outside and kestrel tan leather inside, along with photographic leather headlining and is color coordinated to a Brompton bicycle.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />The Vantage is painted in Mariana Blue with a satin finish and has yellow and carbon fiber leather. China continues to play an important role. Since entering the market in 2008, Aston Martin has opened seven dealerships, with a flagship location in Shanghai's Pudong district, the largest ever Aston Martin dealership. This year, 13 additional showrooms are due to open in China. Together they are targeting to increase retail sales in the region from 190 in 2011 to around 700 in 2012.</span><br style="font-style: italic;"><br style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Aston Martin's global image is driven by its elegant dealerships, which set the benchmark for automotive retail design. Aston Martin's global presence is extensive, with 136 dealerships in 42 countries. New markets are continually being added, including South America, India and Turkey.</span><br style="font-style: italic;"><br style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">2012 sees the arrival of the revised V8 Vantage range. Enhancements include the introduction of Aston Martin's acclaimed Seven-speed SportshiftTM II transmission, with a new aerodynamic package derived from the motorsport variants of the Vantage range. In keeping with Aston Martin's philosophy of continuous improvement, the 2012 Vantage range includes upgrades to chassis and braking.</span><br style="font-style: italic;"><br style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">The Vantage range is now topped by the new V12 Zagato. Created by a team at the Gaydon studios led by Aston Martin's Director of Design, Marek Reichman, the V12 Zagato is a celebration of the long-standing collaboration between the two companies, a fitting testament to the importance Aston Martin places on design, technology, craftsmanship and skilled British manufacturing. Just 150 examples will be made at Aston Martin's Gaydon factory.</span><br style="font-style: italic;"><br style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Aston Martin continues to derive technological enhancements from both its racing programme and the extensive research and development that has gone into the One-77 project. In particular, Aston Martin's experience with carbon-fibre is class leading, and the ability to prepare, fit and finish carbon-fibre components has been carried through into the V12 Zagato and will continue to filter through the Aston Martin range of sports cars.</span><br style="font-style: italic;"><br style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Dr Ulrich Bez has overseen the company's modern renaissance since his appointment as Aston Martin's CEO in July 2000. During that time, Aston Martin has evolved from a small scale manufacturer to global player, preserving and enhancing the Aston Martin name and transforming it into an internationally lauded brand with a positive operating profit since 2005. In 2010 the company reported revenue of £474.3m and adjusted EBITDA of £93.3m. In 2011 Aston Martin retail sales remained stable at 4,200 but a lower adjusted EBITDA is expected due to an increase in the relative cost of sales of more than 3%. Since 2006, the marque has used the race to prove the reliability and durability of its new models - first for V8 Vantage itself, then the new SportshiftTM transmission in 2007, the 4.7 litre engine V8 Vantage in 2008, the V12 Vantage in 2009, the four-door Rapide in 2010, and now, rather more ambitiously, for the first major test of a new concept car - the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.<br /><br />In addition to this year's race, Aston Martin's American team has joined forces with Road & Track magazine to run a standard road specification Rapide at Spring Mountain Motor Sports Ranch in the USA for the same 24 hours as the European team at the Nürburgring. 2011 Aston Martin AMR-One

The Aston’s tiny 2.0-liter mill was developed with LeMans Cup’s new efficiency regulations in mind.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />The six-cylinder engine setup is an interesting one as we just reported last week that Aston Martin was looking at reintroducing a new six-cylinder engine, also with direct injection and turbocharging technology but with a displacement of 2.5-liters in its production cars. So perhaps some variation of this racing engine will eventually turn up in one of Aston Martin’s bespoke road cars.<br /><br />The suspension is double wishbones all round with pushrod Koni dampers, the carbon brakes are by Brembo (six-pot calipers all round, with 380mm front and 355mm rear discs), and the 18in Michelin tyres wrap forged magnesium wheels. the ACO, Aston Martin Racing has chosen to change tack this year in designing an open cockpit car. In line with the new 2011 rules, the AMR-One features the new blade-fin and has a significantly down-sized engine in keeping with the championship's efficiency focused regulations. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed transverse semi automatic pneumatic shift, Xtrac racing gearbox.<br /><br />A total of six AMR-Ones will be built, with the factory team running one car in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) which includes the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans and two cars at selected events. The AMR-One is linked to Aston Martin's ultimate design and engineering showcase; the road going One-77; both of which share similar philosophies featuring carbon fibre monocoques. Aston Martin's in-house design team worked closely with the engineers at Aston Martin Racing to find the optimum balance between aesthetics and aerodynamics.<br /><br />Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez said: "Aston Martin's heritage is deeply rooted in endurance sports car racing, so in 2011, we take the next step demonstrating that a small team using advanced design and engineering intelligence will be agile and competitive."<br /><br />The driver line up for 2011 will consist of Darren Turner (GB) Stefan Mücke (D) and another driver yet to be announced, who will join the team piloting the 007 car. The cabin features satin chrome and Pearl white leather seats with alcantara inserts.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />The Black model has ‘Magic Black’ metallic paint with a deep sea green effect, matt black bonnet vents and chrome trim. The seats are trimmed in black leather with a diamond pattern and other trim pieces are in dark chrome.<br /><br />The exterior is reworked, with a distinctive Aston-style grille and lights; along with redesigned body panels - there's certainly no mistaking this car for a Toyota.<br /><br />Inside, both the cars are equipped with Garmin Nuvi satnav systems; integrated stereo with 3.5mm jack input and steering-wheel mounted stereo controls. The Cygnet's not for everyone, but it's certainly the most luxurious compact car we've ever seen.<br /><br />The two editions will be offered with either standard manual or optional CVT automated transmission and each will be produced for a strictly limited time. For the interior they will get a choice of unique materials and colors. The two Cygnet Launch Edition models; White and Black, are available with either standard manual or optional CVT automated transmission and each will be produced for a strictly limited time.</i></p> <p><i>Cygnet is a bespoke luxury commuter car, designed to take you into the heart of the city, with ultra-compact packaging and low-emission engine technology.
